Hajda Banda / Гайда Банда is a Belarusian-Polish band performing traditional dances and songs from eastern Poland’s Podlasie region, the western parts of Belarus, and Polesye on the Polish-Ukrainian-Belarusian border. Despite performing only on acoustic, traditional instruments like the violin, hammered dulcimer, three-row Polish accordion and frame drum, the band is developing the rural music of the borderlands, from both Poles and Belarusians, with their very own style and ideas. It’s worldwide one and only big-band with roots deep in the wetlands of the Białowieża Forest.
